AS SEEN THROUGH THE LENSE OF STUDENTS
- Taryn has adopted a humanist approach to environmental issues, making her messaging bold yet relatable and actionable.
- Taryn challenges her audience (and anyone she works with) to make responsible decisions after informed deliberation, offering tools to find healthy, sustainable replacements for our favorite fashion items.
- Taryn’s powerful passion for non-toxic fashion helped her become a writer and speaker despite visual and verbal dyslexia. She has found ways to use her learning disability and allergies to toxins to thrive and amplify necessary shifts in the fashion industry!

TARYN IS THE FOUNDER OF BEYOND THE LABEL
Beyond the Label (BtL) started as a partnership between EcoDivas LLC and TEDxLA to educate Angelenos about the true health, social and environmental cost of their fashion purchases. BtL now addresses the question “What's in my tee?” to encourage shoppers to consider what their T-shirt is made of and how it affects themselves, the workers, and the world! |
